El Matador State Beach is by far the best beach I have been to in Malibu! There is free parking, not crowded, clean, and perfect creative locations to shoot at! There is a small hike down/up the stairs to get there and back, but it is worth it. In addition to the perfect view there are picnic tables by the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The cave like rock formations are a perfect plus to this location. Check out some of the photos below!

This album is dedicated to "arty" photos that we captured. We enjoy them and hope that you do too!

Santa Monica has had multiple piers built dating all the way back to 1870’s. So, it has had several piers that attracted people from many generations. In fact, even right now, in 2014, construction workers are building a new addition to it and repairing some sections. The current pier is actually two joint piers. But regardless of its history and what’s to come in the future Santa Monica Pier is a beautiful beach side location that is full of visitors even in middle of the week! People from all around the States and even world visit here. As you can see in these pictures I was able to capture a few families enjoying the cold ocean at night; an activity I wouldn't dare to try! But, many enjoy! My team and I will be visiting the pier within the next few months to see the progress. If your client is looking for a beach side location that is full of life and activities, this is the best location for that. The pier has many beautiful angles to shoot from and capture a magical photo.

Santa Monica! Full of life and surprises. The latest green space created at Santa Monica has been open for a little over a year and it is stunning. It cost nearly $43 million to create Tongva Park, fronting Ocean Avenue and abutting City Hall. The city has converted a 6.2 acre parking lot into this magnificent park. For photographers this park is an ideal place because it is well designed, it has beautiful vegetation and many well thought out landscape to get creative. There is plenty of light to shoot creative photos after sunset. Just like many other locations Tongva Park has operational hours and requires all professionals and students to obtain a permit from smgov.net/parks in order to film or photograph on site. The easiest way around this is to let them know that you are shooting for yourself or personal use, such as facebook or personal album.

04/14/2014 - 04/15/2014 This amazing shot of the moon was taken during "blood moon!" This lunar eclipse lured out thousands to Griffith Observatory. There were families who spread out blankets on the grass and waited for hours just to gaze the moon as it turned red. Dozens of telescopes and DSLRs were pointed at the sky tonight. And this is our work of art! This was an energizing experience! Hope you guys enjoy it...

California Institute of Technology is a technology school as the name suggests, but it also offers many beautiful sites where photographers and visitors can enjoy their time at. This University is abundant in beauty throughout the day, even at night. We have been shooting at Caltech at various hours. As the sun changes its position in the sky so does the mood and overall feel of your photos. Pasadena offers many beautiful locations to shoot photos, but Caltech is the only place where there are numerous angles to shoot from and still keep things interesting. There is a story to tell in every direction that the camera is pointed. You can go from a very romantic look all the way to a simple and casual look by simply moving a few feet.
As with every shoot, we recommend making light your subject and not the model or whatever it is that you are shooting. Why is that? Because when your lighting is just right it produces the mood that you or your client are looking for. Use ambient light and emphasize your subjects with simple off camera Speedlite. This will produce a very professional photo. Often photographers forget about the surrounding available light. After all, when you client pics a place for a photo shoot they want people to see that environment. Blurring out the background or blowing out the lights will defeat that purpose. Again, listen to your clients and deliver what they want, not what is artistic to you! Sure! your $2500 lens is awesome, but keep what’s important in focus.
