There’s something special happening at Columbia, and you can feel it from the sideline.

The wins are exciting, but what stands out even more is the leadership behind them. Coaches pouring into these young men, mentors holding them accountable, and a group of kids starting to believe in themselves and in each other.

That kind of culture doesn’t change overnight. It changes through consistency, discipline, trust, and people who are willing to keep showing up.

I’ve really enjoyed being on the sideline watching it unfold and having the chance to capture some of those moments along the way. The big plays are fun to photograph, but so are the conversations, the encouragement, the celebrations, and the moments that show what this program is becoming.

The culture is shifting.

And it’s been pretty special to watch. ❤️📸🏈

Tomorrow night, we’re back on the sideline with Columbia. 📸🏈

Looking forward to being out there with the players, coaches, families, and community for Columbia vs. East Limestone.

The game is only part of the story. The people around it are what make Friday nights special.

Last night was about a community that kept showing up. Players who kept believing. Coaches who kept pouring into these kids. Families who kept supporting them. Fans who kept cheering, even when the wins were hard to come by.

After 101 straight losses, Columbia finally got to celebrate one together.

You could feel what it meant everywhere. On the sideline. In the stands. In the hugs. In the tears. In the smiles.

This wasn’t just a win for a football team. It was a win for everybody who refused to quit on them.

What a night to witness. What a night to capture. 🦅🖤❤️

A huge thank you to Columbia High School for giving me the opportunity to be on the sideline and capture such a special night. I’m grateful I got to document a piece of history for this team and community.

Last night was bigger than football.

After 101 straight losses, Columbia finally got that win.

And in the middle of all the celebration were moments like these. Sammie Coates with his wife, then with his son, finally getting to enjoy what they had all been working and waiting for.

You can see the relief. You can see the pride. You can see just how much that one win meant.

Some wins go way beyond the scoreboard. Last night was one of them. ❤️

I wanted something that felt less like traditional picture day and more like the athlete actually got to show some personality.

One of my favorite things about wrestling is that it brings together people from every stage of life.

The Alabama State Games Individuals and Masters divisions were full of great matches, tough competitors, and moments worth remembering. There was no shortage of heart, determination, and grit throughout the weekend.

Alabama State Games Duals

A lot of people see the matches. They see the wins, losses, medals, and team scores.

What they don’t always see are the moments in between.

The dads tying shoes.
The coaches in the corner.
The teammates celebrating each other.
The nervous kids waiting for their turn.
The parents living every second of every match.
The friendships built on long days in hot gyms.

That’s what makes wrestling special.

Yesterday wasn’t really about wins and losses.

It was about courage.

A group of moms stepped out of their comfort zones, put on a singlet, walked onto a wrestling mat, and did something most people would never even consider trying.

There were nerves, smiles, exhaustion, hugs, laughter, and a whole lot of support from the wrestling family around them.

The best part wasn’t the scoreboards. It was watching kids cheer for their moms, coaches celebrate with them, and seeing complete strangers become friends through the sport.

Wrestling has a funny way of teaching the same lesson no matter your age:

You’re capable of more than you think.

Proud of every mom who stepped on the mat yesterday.
