My friends Jonathan Villet and Fiona McDougall have made a film about me titled "Wrestling the Angel". I speak about my life and work as a painter and illustrator, and my experience facing a cancer diagnosis last year. David Gonzales transformed some of my illustrations into animations, a delightful surprise. It was a very moving experience to work with them and unexpectedly wonderful to see the final film. It is that time of the year again. It could be March, or April, or May, depending on where they are growing in the Northern Hemisphere, this particular moment of Spring, when tree peonies unfurl their leaves like hands and offer them up in prayer.

Attending the opening of Art in the Making was one of the most wonderful and uplifting experiences. I am very grateful to have two of my photographs included in this exhibition in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and more than a little chuffed to see one of them grace the beautiful exterior wall.
