It's hard to start out when you don't have connections but there's only one way to correct that: Get out there and tell people what you're doing!
They see you shooting but what does that tell a non-photographer? Believe it or not it tells them almost nothing. 🤷♀️
It might seem obvious what you're doing(to you) but people really don't know what the gig is and often times won't care enough to ask. You could be hired by a company, news outlet, a family, or just be a hobbyist. If you want people interested in what you have to offer you have to tell them what you bring to the table.
