I actually love paperweights 🤷‍♀️ And use them! 😆 Sharing this fun “memory” I shared on instagram back in 2024. The audio is needed to really appreciate it.

I brought “Field of Lucid Dreams” (bottom painting) out to inspect it before I pack it up for Round the Fountain Art Fair next weekend. Harold has stamped his paw of approval on my final booth design and has given me the green light to pack my van. 🐾 🐈‍⬛

I had my first Wahlburger and travel art show 4 years ago. It was my official first year of doing shows. If I could go back and tell that girl all that she’d go through the next 4 years I wouldn’t, because she might have quit right then. Life is tough. But so are we. So here I am still hanging in there 💪 and preparing for my first show of 2026. Adulthood is wild, y’all. Keep fighting the good fight, friends and happy Mother’s Day weekend to all you mothers out there!

But it’s such a GOOD jar! 🫙🤦‍♀️ I am a reformed box hoarder 📦

Starting to see little glints of green and pink on the branch tips outside my window. I feel incredibly happy to work with it open today. Like the struggle of winter is letting go of its grip. I know that the cold weather isn’t gone for good, but for the moment I’m loving it! Any little winks of Spring where you are?

Have you ever heard the phrase, “If you love something set it free. If it’s meant to be it’ll come back to you”? Yesterday, I met a wonderful new friend, Sandy, a multidisciplinary artist with creativity oozing from her fingertips! A month ago she emailed me with a photo of one of my early paintings titled, “Fire Dancer”.

I created Fire Dancer along with five other paintings. The others were auctioned off to help animal shelters and spread a little love in the world. I liked Fire Dancer and kept her, until 2022, when I sold her in my booth at a show.

I always regretted not auctioning her off so she could complete the love and giving that the others had. But Sandy, saw that this was no ordinary thrift store find, bought it, and messaged me.

Yesterday I drove to the darling town of Madison, Indiana and visited her shop The House At White Rock inside of Riverwest Antique Mall. I repurchased the painting and now it will be auctioned off like the rest of my work from that time, at Tara's Garden party on March 7. Come by next Saturday to this free event, have a meal, cake, and bid on your favorite items in the silent auction. Maybe you’ll take Fire Dancer home?

Thank you, Sandy, for helping me complete this mission! ⭕️ 🫶 ✨😊

If you’re in the French quarter this weekend for Mardi Gras, you really must make a visit to The Old Absinthe House. I was there a few weeks ago and told my hubby, “I feel so much here”. I sipped an absinthe frappe and read the fascinating history on Wikipedia. Even left one of my business cards on the wall. "Art is the soul of life and the Old Absinthe House is the heart and soul of the old quarter of New Orleans." - Aleister Crowley, 1916.
