A long overdue Congratulations to the graduates of GHHS and UA classes of 2023. I really enjoyed spending time with each one of you! I wish nothing but the best as you enter into your next chapter. Thanks for creating magic with me :)

I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with so many students, parents, GHHS PTO, GHHS Touchdown Club and GHHS Band Parents Association over the last ten years. Finding my gifts through photography has been a big part of my growth and creative process. Learning photography started as a way to connect with nature and from there I began to understand how to capture the light, not only within our natural world, but within my human subjects. If you have worked with me in the past, you know my "rules" around when we can shoot ;) Working with the light and all it has to offer not only creates beautiful images, but it brings out the soul of my photography subject.

I have been reflecting for a long time about where my photography "gig" was taking me. With my day job and other personal passions, specifically the Wide Open Heart Project, I have decided not to take on any new clients for the next 9-12 months. It was a hard decision to make, but one that I am confident in making. Sometimes we have to make room for something new to enter, and I am choosing to step back from my photography for now and focus on my health, my passion around energy work and traveling out west to visit my kids this fall.

Thank you to everyone, students, parents and community members who have entrusted me with your photography needs over the years. It has been a joy to work with all of you.

First senior photo session for the Class of 2023 last night at Inniswoods Metro Park. It was a gorgeous August evening and this little guy wanted his photo taken too!

Due to my travel schedule and personal commitments, I am already booked for September and only have 3 spots left for October and into early November. If you are interested in booking a senior photo session, please reach out via text or email. You can reach me at 614-562-1828 or [email protected].

Best wishes to all the seniors as they begin their final year of high school!

Feeling small is important. It lends perspective. In the scheme of things most of us are fairly insignificant. It’s healthy for all of us to realize and appreciate that, while still trying to do good.

The edge of space, often on a canyon rim, does it for me. Here I feel small, and there is comfort in that.

This image was made in one of my favorite places, Four Corners, USA. Thanks for taking a look and I hope you’re all staying well.

It feels like graduation (a mere 4 months away now!) gets closer with every senior I photograph. I am so glad I get to share this special time with other Grandview parents and their seniors.

Connor and his mom Jennifer Hayes braved the cold and ice last Sunday afternoon for his senior photos. Connor has played hockey for 11 years so he felt at very at ease on the edge of the river! It was nice to spend one on one time with Connor and Jen and I will cherish our friendship and connection always!

Best wishes Connor as you spend these last few months at GHHS. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

I am excited to announce that I will be the featured artist at the Grandview Heights Public Library during the month of February!

My exhibit, "The Eternal Frontier" was originally scheduled for August 2020, but due to reasons we all know and understand, it was cancelled. For my February 2022 exhibit, I re-worked the original content and now I am featuring not only my nature and landscape photography, but incorporating select poems and essays that I feel might add to the visual aspect of my art. Additionally, I will be showcasing several GHHS Class of 2022 senior portraits. I am grateful to the parents of these kids who are allowing me to celebrate these seniors during my show. Thank you!

When I picked up my camera in 2011, what I thought was just a hobby became a passion. As I began to "see" nature, Her beauty and gifts through all seasons and landscapes, I found my "voice" which allowed me to write what my heart was exploring, learning and feeling.

My path towards my heart work has become clear as I reflect back on these last 10 years. It truly has been the exploration of my own "eternal frontier", finding my heart center, that has allowed me the opportunity to help others heal themselves through reiki, energy work, nature exploration, meditation and writing. When I reflect about my creative journey, I feel blessed that my path has taken me from photography, to writing, to creating the Wide Open Heart Project, whose mission is to teach the energy of love, to help others on their own "eternal frontier" journey to find their own heart center, clarity, peace and acceptance through loving-kindness.

Thank you to those who have supported me over the years, either through my art, my writing, or through the Wide Open Heart Project. But most of all, I am grateful to my Higher Power for giving me these gifts to share with the world.

Love and light, M

With love and passion....

It's a sobering thought that at the very moment I take the shot, it's gone forever. The beauty and emotion captured within my subjects are the embodiment of the universes stamp on the faces, the flowers or the landscape in front of me. Creating an heirloom for others is my passion and my gift to my clients.

My objective as an artist is to open the eyes and heart of the observer to the beautiful world around each one of us. My travels have taken me many places and I have been blessed to spend time immersed within these unique geographic locations. I have spent a lot of time in Northern California, specifically the Eastern Sierras, Yosemite National Park, along CA State Route 395 and the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, which is home to the oldest living trees on earth. I also spend a lot of time photographing my beautiful neighborhood, Marble Cliff and local gem, Tarpy Woods. In these special spaces, I have refined my skills and continue to see something new through my lens every time I step out with my camera.
