Amazing, yet entirely true! I completed my first proposal shoot in the states. It's hardly the most unbelievable part, though. The fact that I took pictures of my youngest cousin Neev and his fiancée Sonali is what makes it unique.
The preparations took weeks. First, the venue had to be a beach. Then, that beach had to be emptyish on Labour day weekend. A lofty directive by all imaginations. But, with effort and patience, we uncovered the perfect place - Garrapata state park. Next, Neev, had caricatures made of him and his girlfriend. The idea was “simple”. Bring her to the beach in a dress and then with the caricatures as backdrop pop the eternal question. Will you Marry Me?
On the day, nothing was as "simple" though…
To begin with, the travel took longer than two hours. Each caricature needed its own tripod. Which means that a dozen or so tripod parts had to be hauled down the cliff entrance and then assembled at the beach ( Please add, cushions, wine, beach blanket, picnic basket and candles without batteries to that list). But you know “Vatavarn” and all. It had to be done.
To add to our increasing woes. our wing woman could not find the "beach" entry to this enormous park and of course there was no mobile signal. Despite all of these logistical challenges. These two cuties met on an almost deserted beach during golden hour to seal the deal and hold hands forever. Wishing Neev and Sonali all the love and luck in the world.
