"Going into college, I had a lot of expectations, but as a first year I realized that I wasn't quite ready and I didn't really know myself. Even though I met a lot of people, we weren't close and I've never talked to them since then. During my second year, I wanted to find close friends but didn't really find that either. And fast forward to my thrid year and now my fourth year, I feel like in college you ultimately learn about learning, and not the actual subjects themselves. I won't remember specific things I learned in chemistry 10 years from now, but I have learned the importance of being comfortable and genuine with yourself. For those who feel like they are still searching for themselves, I think it's important to stop pretending to be someone you're not and to just be yourself. And I think that's what makes you happy. Simply being yourself."

"I'm away from home, but at the same time very close. This hot breeze reminds me of summer nights where I would play guitar and sing with my brother. The start of spring motivates me to go out, have fun, and take care of myself; it gets me excited for summer.

I started taking photos during my junior year of high school, which was one of my worst years. Photography helped me in my hardest moments because I instantly found my surroundings more beautiful. Honestly, I never found the sky to be beautiful until I started taking pictures. It sort of popped out of nowhere and completely changed that year around and who I am now."

Bianca: MAI feels like the first of its kind to combine the medical aspect with sustainability… we are raising awareness of medical waste. $765 billion worth of useable medical supplies are wasted each year in the US. We wanted to have an event where people could do something artsy while learning what we do!
Sartaj: Through this committee, I really learned the importance of awareness of anything you do.

If you’re interested in joining any of the following staffs and have a passion for excellence and creativity, we encourage you to apply at http://apply.uclastudentmedia.com/applications/bruinlife/

The BruinLife Photo Studio, a subdivision of BruinLife, is operated under the BruinLife name, but is composed of a different staff that compliments the BruinLife yearbook staff. Hello BruinLife! My name is Erik Fonseca (Class of 2002) and I'm a proud one-time staff member of BruinLife Yearbook (2001-2002). I wrote some articles for the 2001 edition of the BLYB, but never received a copy of the book. Do you have extra copies of the 2001 edition BLYB, by any chance? I would love to pick one up if you an extra one still in stock. Thank you!
Any update for when last years YearBook will be available?
You guys seem to know everyone's face on campus - Know of any stellar students looking for a job after graduation? The Red Bull Graduate Program is hiring.
