Let’s say our cameras were having an issue and could only capture three specific moments on your wedding day. Which three would you choose, and why?

(Don’t worry, this never happens).

Do you know what the most popular answer is?

This moment right here - that first glimpse the bride and groom have of each other as she walks down the aisle.

For most couples, this is what makes the wedding day real. That meeting of eyes that tells you this day you’ve dreamed of for years is finally here. It’s not a fantasy. It’s a fulfillment of so many deep desires, and it’s happening right now.

And trust us - we know how to capture it in a way that takes you right back there again and again.

Are you ready to have that first glance captured in all its raw beauty? Here’s what you need to do next: DM ‘EMOTION’.

The best speeches leave the audience doing one of three things:
- cheering
- crying
- laughing

Extra points if you do two out of three. 😂

Digital video is not going away from weddings anytime soon. It’s clean, sharp, versatile, a mainstay in cinematic storytelling.

By contrast, Super8 is soft, aged, imperfect, full of texture that digital sensors could never perfectly emulate.

Each medium is beautiful on its own. Combined together, they’re a match made in heaven.

And when you top it off with emotionally driven dialogue and music, the beauty and nostalgia rises to a whole new level.

If you’re wanting a videographer who knows how to blend modern sensibility, vintage nostalgia, and genuine emotional storytelling, look no further. Send me a DM to learn how we can help you capture your wedding day the way you deserve.

Culture and language go hand in hand. They both bring identity and flavor to a film, imbuing it with richness and beauty. And whenever we have the chance, we love to incorporate the heartfelt expressions of family and friends from their mother tongue.

How much have you thought about your wedding vows?

What will you say?

What promises will you make?

This is one of the most daunting tasks on a wedding day. Especially given the fact that most brides and grooms are not natural writers, public speakers, or cinematic storytellers.

That’s why so much of our work is about guiding couples through the writing process, helping them turn their many memories, experiences, and emotions into words that will live on in their wedding film forever. Words that stir the heart, that are imbued with deep meaning, and that speak to your unique version of love.

A bride and groom’s voice deserves the most prominent place in their wedding film. But there’s plenty of room and need for the voices of others.

Including the father of the bride.

They’ve seen their daughter grow over many years into an incredible woman, and that perspective adds so much to the storytelling. The tenderness, the emotion, the bittersweet sadness and joy mixed together makes for a heady brew that few other people can contribute to the narrative.

So fathers, if you feel a bit of hesitation towards speaking at the wedding out of shyness or fear of getting emotional, please don’t let that hold you back. Your daughter will treasure listening to your words forever and ever.

What parts of your story will your wedding film tell?

Just the good parts? Or the not-so-good parts as well?

It’s true that weddings are about celebration, reveling in great joy and accomplishment at finding true love. And no one likes to think about the negatives, the challenges, the pains and hurts we’ve experienced over time.

But not acknowledging the hardships that led to this occasion is leaving out a significant part of your life. Because overcoming those hardships made you who you are, and likely your life would be very different today if you hadn’t gone through them - maybe in a worse way.

So as you think about what details to include in the narrative of your wedding film, don’t forget the bad stuff. It’s what makes your love real, strong, and virtuous, something even more worthy of celebrating.

If your wedding film is ONLY about your wedding, you’re missing out on something powerful.

Because while your wedding day is certainly a momentous occasion, it carries very little meaning on its own. It’s a decision based on two people getting to know each other over years, creating shared memories that forged their unique dynamic and formed a foundation for the promises they make on that wedding day.

Without all that context, a wedding film becomes generic, shallow, surfacy (if that’s a word). And the last thing a couple deserves is a film that barely scratches the surface of what their love story means to them.

There’s many ways we add that context to a couple’s story, and one of our favorites being home footage. It brings those precious memories of the past into visual form, letting viewers get a taste of who these two were in the past, they things they enjoyed sharing in together, and how this fantastic bond has grown over the years.

Jillian and Nicholas gave us a lot of material to work with - visits to aquariums, playtime with their pets, silly moments of fiddling with hair, and the very first time Jillian tried a McDonald’s cheeseburger. Now their film isn’t just two people in pretty outfits eating cake - it’s a time capsule that reminds them of all the beautiful memories that make up their tapestry of love.

Nostalgic for those home videos? Comment ‘HOME’ to see how we can incorporate them into your wedding film!
