Last night, I dared to dive into the “Single Lens Challenge” for the majority of the Muse gig in Huddersfield using the Nikkor 80-200mm F/4 AI-S.

I picked this lens up on eBay for a steal at $20 on eBay a few weeks ago and haven’t put it down since. The newer, auto-focus version might set you back a cool grand, but who needs it really? It’s heavy and 50x times more expensive, literally.

Try manual focus. If you’re using Sony’s mirrorless marvels, the focus peaking feature is your BFF! Plus, it’s a lot of fun if you’re a nerd about this kind of stuff like me. Autofocus can sometimes feel a bit too.. easy.

Anyway, here are some shots I managed to accomplish with this $20 vintage piece of glass adapted to a Sony A6400. Let me know your thoughts! 👇

Times Square Debut (2019) I put together a team of videographers in Germany to film Beartooth's performance from multiple angles. I then took the footage and edited all of the best bits of the concert into an engaging video that would help recap the important night. That edited video was later used as marketing assets for the band and their record label on Times Square in New York City. #theworkofjar #FromTheArchives
