Life is a beautiful contradiction and this year has taught me so much.

🪷💣The image of the blooming lotus flower cradling a bomb speaks to the delicate balance of life. The lotus, often seen rising serenely from the water, symbolizes purity and rebirth – a reflection of the natural beauty that can surround us. Yet, the bomb nestled within introduces a stark contrast, hinting at the underlying tensions and unexpected challenges that can surface even amidst beauty. It’s a reminder that even in the most serene settings, there can be hidden pressures, personal struggles, or the looming threat of the unpredictable. This juxtaposition urges us to appreciate tranquility while acknowledging the potential for disruption, a feeling that can resonate with the ebb and flow of life.

🦋Then, there’s origami butterfly: meticulously folded from a two-dollar bill, it is a powerful symbol of good luck. For many, the two-dollar bill itself is considered a rarity and a good luck charm. When transformed into a beautiful, delicate butterfly, it elevates that luck, suggesting that fortune can be found in the most unexpected places and that with a little creativity, we can turn something ordinary into something extraordinary. It’s a reminder that good fortune isn’t just about what we’re given, but what we make of it.

We are all a blend of light and shadow, creation and destruction, beauty and burden. It’s in embracing this duality that we truly learn to live. 🤍

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a bit about where this piece, ‘Heartbreak Warfare,’ came from. Honestly, it’s pretty personal. I think we’ve all been through those times when love feels more like a battlefield, right? That’s what I was trying to capture with the heart shaped like a gr***de. It’s that feeling of something so precious also having the potential to explode and cause pain.

The way the gold paint is dripping... that’s how loss can feel, like something valuable just slowly draining away. And the caged heart? That’s that trapped feeling, like you’re stuck with the pain and can’t move forward.

Creating this was kind of a way for me to process some of that stuff, and I really hope it speaks to anyone else who’s been through something similar. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
