The Richards Family is joyful, successful, and genuine. When we did out studio shoot, I was witness to all of these qualities and more! They love each other deeply and support each other strongly.

It has been a few years since they had portraits taken and wanted images to represent where they are in their lives right now. The girls aren’t so little and the parents are much wiser 🙂 They laugh a lot, work hard and love to be together.

So happy to know this family and so grateful they trusted me with such meaningful images❤️ thank you 😊

Inspiring weekend! Big changes to how I shoot coming soon.

Over the next two days, Brian and I taught them how to create a vision for those words with studio lighting and posing!

“Angels Resting Their Wings”

One of the best gifts I gave myself was going on a trip with other photographers to Italy in 2014🇮🇹 MeRa Koh (and hopefully will again someday) took a group on a journey through Italy that was life inspiring for me. I was getting to the promise land of parenting where my 2 older kids were not babies anymore and felt it was ok to leave them for a few days.

I didn’t realize how asleep my creative soul was then 💥 BAM! It woke up!

So many moments were captured in Italy that I connected with like this one. When you travel with other photographers, you spend a lot of time in one place trying to get our own artistic shots or work out something technical. No one is rushing you along and we get to settle in to a scene and absorb what is happening.

This was at the Vatican where a large event was being set up. Lots of activity and people moving around. These three were having a little break.

I recently had this photo enlarged and hung in a place where I can see it all the time. It is a visual queue reminding me in my busy life to be in the present. The three of them are working even when they are resting. 😇🕊
