day. You can definitely hire an unsigned freelance model for much less
money, but we have had abysmal experiences with most freelance models.
Clothing and professionalism are my two biggest concerns with freelance
models. We recently had a model show up to a full day shoot with none of
her pre-approved clothing and I wouldn't want to jeopardize your shoot.
Spending a little more up front to ensure a better model and a better
project will almost always result in improved sales later on!”

I never want it to be forgotten that we recently did a shoot where a who presented herself as a professional showed up to a commercial for a line of purses with none of her preapproved clothing, resulting in the photographers scrambling to put clothes in her back. We played it off well, but I was incredibly embarrassed and I’ve since stopped casting freelance models for our projects as a result, because I cannot take the risk.

when freelance wonder why they never get hired, this is why. is a business. Instead of expecting to get paid for every shoot you do, you need to spend time networking and putting yourself out there, taking responsibility and never, ever show up unprepared or shuck the blame on someone else.

More than a photography studio. F-Sequence studio boasts nearly 100 devices, including dozens of smart led Wifi lights, 8 Alexa devices (fire tv, 2 echos, 3 echo dots, echo tap and a fire tablet), 7 smart security cameras, door and window sensors, smart vertical blinds, smart routers, Logitech harmony and even a smart Roomba. All of it controlled Alexa, with hundreds of custom routines and constant updates via Apple watches. It’s as close to a living, breathing artificial bring as technology will allow.

Tonight’s renters are hosting a class for women ! The best part of having a is the ability to virtually join our renters via security cameras, door sensors and two way communications, which allowed us to go get pedicures tonight :D

I tend to classify the areas of F-Sequence Studio by the Alexa commands used to control it. “Alexa, turn on the tv” turns on the hdtv or “Alexa, watch a movie on the projector” will roll down the new 100” motorized movie screen and turn on the projector.
, get fancy and say “Alexa, cinema mode” and she will roll down the screen, turn off the lights and turn on the projector all at once

We shot this really great model in our upstairs lounge. I had a strobe downstairs maybe around fifty feet away pointed at her back and then another strobe pointed at the ceiling/wall to make a gigantic ‘umbrella’.

So we created this cool Moroccan or Indian themed seating area upstairs with floor cushions from Cost Plus World Market. we had a studio renter who named it “the boom-boom room” and we we’re so upset with that moniker at the time, but God help us, we’ve been calling it the Boom-Boom Room ever since >_<
Yes, those lights are Alexa powered and you can change the colors or brightness with commands like “Alexa, change the boom boom room to blue” lol.

Day or night? I’ve been working on making some custom lighting setups for the holidays. There’s something like 70 smart devices at F-Sequence Studio powered by Alexa (my ride or die). This includes lighting, the tv, movie screen and as soon as they arrive, vertical blinds :D
