With the evolution of Hip Hop, Yo Homeboi Julius C did not go with the trend of trap and decided to continue with the styles of Hip Hop he enjoys the most. You will notice that most of his music has quite the 2000s Hip Hop flavor to it, keeping that era alive. This was a personal choice he made, creating the type of music he would prefer to listen to, rather than chasing the mainstream trends. There will be an exception with remixes; remixes will have a more modern twist to them since they are being brought back to life either by demand or to revive a throwback with renewed potential. If a producer wants to bring back a song with a trap feel to it for the fans, by all means they are more than welcome to do so!

Track 4 “Stay Close” written and recorded in 2013 and released as a single in 2014, then eventually added into the “Words of Love” EP when it was rereleased. This was the only track that was not produced by me in this EP. A very talented friend of mine, a brazilian musician, producer, singer & engineer named Carlos Neris created this instrumental and I had the great opportunity to write, record and mix the original version which was mastered by a major mastering company originally. Now that I became a better mixing and mastering engineer, I went back to retouch the mix and do the remaster myself for the rerelease which I am very happy with. Shout outs to Carlos Neris for this instrumental, it is one of my favorite tracks I’ve put together in the pop rap / slow jam & world music genres. The lyrics I wrote were very deep and meaningful to me when I put this song together and it fit the instrumentation very well.
