I still don't know how to put it into words.
This family photo was taken three days before the Eaton Fire.
The large park, once a symbol of peace with its constant bird songs, children climbing trees and running around, and the weekend farmers' market, is now changed.
Fortunately, my own home and family were safe, but friends lost their homes, and cherished places like parks, supermarkets, and cafes we frequented are gone.
It's been less than a month since it happened. Amidst the sadness, everyone is supporting each other, and I feel a strong sense of unity.
Having experienced the Kobe earthquake and knowing that recovery was achieved, I believe that, although it will take time, with everyone's cooperation, we can surely rebuild and look forward to a brighter future.
未だにどう言葉に現していいのかは分かりません。
こちらのファミリーフォトはEaton Fireがあった3日前に撮影しました。
大きい公園でいつも小鳥のさえずり、木登りや走っている子供、週末にあるファーマーズマーケットなど平和の象徴でした。
私自身の家や家族は幸い無事でしたが、友人の家や大事な公園、スーパー、カフェなどいつもいく場所がなくなってしまいました。
まだ起こって１ヶ月以内。悲しみの中でもみんなが支え合い、強いパワーを感じています。
神戸の震災も体験し、復興を遂げたことを知っています。
今回の火事も時間はかかるでしょうが、みんなの協力で必ず復興される明るい未来を願わずにはいられません。
