Sharing more from this series in honor of 🧡 🪶

We continue to wear our in solidarity and remembrance of all the missing indigenous children who were separated from their families and forced to attend in the U.S. and Canada. We continue to demand from our governmental organizations and local communities.

This photo series calls attention to an alarming number of unmarked graves that have been found during investigations of Residential Schools across North America. Through the use of archeological investigation and the examination of vital statistics, the Truth and Reconciliation Committee (TRC) has compiled a 4-part series of documented reporting on this matter. In collaboration with the TRC, The Working Group on Missing Children and Unmarked Graves has also released a report entitled “Missing Children & Unmarked Burials: Research Recommendations.

We stand today and every day in solidarity. We wear our to raise awareness about the dark history of Residential Schools. We support survivors within the Native American community by amplifying their voices and demanding Truth and Reconciliation.

This photo project focuses on calling attention to investigations currently being made into why thousands of missing indigenous children are being found in unmarked graves. Through the use of Ground Pe*******on Radar (GPR) technology and the testimonies of survivors, 11 out of 138 Residential Schools across Canada have been under investigation with little to no support from the Canadian government. It is estimated by the Truth and Reconciliation Committee (TCR) that the remains of at least 5,000 children are scattered across these 11 Canadian school sites, along with the bodies of 6,128 Native children being recovered across the U.S. and Canada so far.

The significance of the orange shirt comes from a story told by a survivor, Phyllis Webstad, who was forced to leave her family and attend a Residential School in British Columbia. Her grandmother had bought her an orange shirt for her first day of school, but it was taken from her once she arrived.

Survivors have recounted horrific stories about the systematic family and cultural separation, beatings, sexual abuse and starvation that they endured while being forced to attend these Residential Schools.

To show your support, please donate to the , wear your orange shirt in solidarity and educate those around you about this very important issue.

Every. Child. Matters.

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Slay! 🎊💍

Shannon and Mike hosted an intimate wedding ceremony at the beautiful and secluded Hydrangea Ranch nestled in the outskirts of Tillamook, OR. Friends and family were ushered into a twinkling barn full of greenery from Shannon & Mike’s farm. Table settings featured handmade centerpieces from their garden while various nooks along the wall showcased their favorite framed artwork. 🪴 🖼️

For the toast to the Bride & Groom, one-of-a-kind champagne flutes were thrifted from local shops and filled with bubbly. Each guest was encouraged to take their special glass home with them so that they could continue remembering the day. 🥂🍾

Catering was provided by a local restaurant, Offshore Grill and Coffee House, using fresh ingredients sourced directly from Shannon & Mike’s farm. The risotto dish featured a chanterelle mushroom that was foraged by the couple over the course of 4 weeks leading up to the gathering. 🍄 🍽️

The wedding cake was designed by SaraSotas Bakery and featured flowers with gold leaf accents. Layers of vanilla boasted a rasberry filling and was topped with buttercream frosting. Gluten-free dark chocolate cupcakes with gold leaf accents were also designed by Offshore Grill and arranged alongside the cake. Who doesn’t like having more than one delicious option??? 🍰🌹

What a way to Slay The Day!!!! 👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏼‍♂️
