This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the engagement session for these two!
Fun fact: Paige and Kyle have actually known each other since they were 12! It took an extra ticket at stagecoach for them to reunite a few years ago and it was as if no time had passed at all.
One of the reasons it may take you a long time to edit every wedding is because of your second shooter’s photos. No shame throwing here, but it’s true.
As a private photo editor, I’ve noticed a few things here and there that will help you edit weddings easier with multiple cameras.
1. Hire a second shooter with a similar style.
2. Make plans to use the same cameras settings during the wedding day.
3. Don’t shoot a million photos.

When I first started my business, I used the resources I had at my fingertips.

Confession time. Matt got me a Nitendo Switch for Christmas so that I could enter his video gaming world (although I’m still convinced it was a gift to himself 😂) and I’m hooked!
I’ve been playing Super Mario Brothers after the work day is complete and I totally feel like a kid again. Although here’s another confession for you... I never played video games a kid. Weird, right?
I’m taking the quieter part of this editing season to reflect and prepare for this next year, but let’s be honest - there will be a little Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart thrown into the mix!
I’ve personally always been attracted to humor - after all laughter is the best medicine. I truly think you should find someone that makes you laugh and genuinely smile exactly like this. Life is too complicated to not have a silly partner by your side.
When my husband and I went to go adopt a cat three years ago, we decided an older cat would be best for us. Little did we know, we weren’t going to be the ones choosing.
As we crouched down to pet one of the older cats, six-month-Ziggy surprised us as he jumped into our lap. His cuddles and purrs were obvious signs that he was our kitty.
In an industry that is constantly growing, remember that people will choose you because YOUR story is perfect for THEM.
Dear 2018,
You were one of the most memorable years of my lifetime - the year we got married! I will forever re-play memories from the best day of my life.
You reminded me of the intention that I assigned to you in the beginning of the year: fulfillment. I took a leap and focused on my business, something that I was scared to do, but am ever so grateful for that decision. The support, cheer and love that was shown was absolutely amazing and something that I will pass on in 2019.
Next year my set intention is to flourish.
2018, you have taught me to be more present than ever, and ready to tackle on another year. Thank you for a fantastic year.

Heather and Jose's The Redondo Beach Hotel wedding was about as perfect as you could imagine. There was no doubt that The Redondo Beach Hotel was the perfect location for these two as they said their vows on the outdoor deck, over looking the Redondo Beach marina.

Comfort zones are my jam. They’re safe, they’re cozy and they’re made juuust for me. —
This past weekend I went salsa dancing. Definitely not in my comfort zone. My palms were sweaty, my heartbeat was racing and you know what? I got over it as I repeatedly counted to try and hit my marks. I can now say that I can salsa dance... well more like I’ve been salsa dancing. There’s still a LOT of work to do.

However warm your comfort zone is, ditch the onesie and try something new. I’m sure you’re be pleasantly surprised what great thing shows up in front of you.
The marine layer slowly crept it, diffusing the light perfectly for a beachy outdoor wedding. It was clear that these two were meant to be together by their infectious smiles, big hearts and love for traveling.

Just show up.
People not only want to see you, they need to see you.
I remember throughout our wedding day, just looking at Matt and smiling. Happy to be surrounded by closest friends and family, happy to be marrying the love of my life; happy to be starting a new chapter.

Hi I’m Halley - a photo editor for busy wedding photographers based out of Los Angeles, California. Losing all my family photos at a young age, I quickly learned the value of photography. Black and white film classes in high school led to graduating in 2014 from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Art and Photography. I soon started documenting weddings and family portraits, loving all the people I met all the way.
After three years of being a wedding photographer, I had the realization how much I actually enjoyed photo editing. Switching gears in 2017, I started editing photos for other wedding photographers and I love getting to see hundreds of pretty weddings a year, plus supporting wedding photographers!
