HEADSHOT SESSION:
I work with natural light as I feel it gives your skin tone the best color quality. BEFORE THE SHOOT:
If you have made arrangements to do a Head Shot Session, you may want to start by checking your wardrobe for suitable
clothing. Please stay away from yellow or orange, as these colors do not work well with most skin tones. Once you have chosen your wardrobe, make sure it has been ironed and put the clothes on a hanger. The bottom part of your outfit is not as important. Just make sure you wear something comfortable like Jeans, as we won't see them in the picture. Once you get to the shoot, we will go over the clothing you have brought and, if not already done so, we will discuss what your agent has in mind for you and make sure to follow his/her visions. Keep in mind that rich solid colors always look great! If you have green eyes, please bring something green, if you have brown eye bring something brown ... it will make your eyes stand out. Most people have a side of their face that photographs best "Their preferred side". If you do not know if and which side of your face photographs best, play around in front of a mirror, to see if you have one too. DURING THE SHOOT:
I like to keep things very laid-back. Let me know what music you like so I can put it in Pandora :). I have coffee, tea and water available, or even beer, if need be! As there is generally a wardrobe change during the shoot, I use that time to start downloading the pictures. This gives you a chance to see what you look like and give you confidence that the shoot is going great and that you look fantastic. HAIR AND MAKE-UP:
Unless you don’t feel absolutely comfortable doing your own hair and make-up, I would advise you to book a Hair & Make-Up professional. I have someone very talented on call who, for a very reasonable price per session, will do your hair and make-up and who will be present throughout the entire shoot. I am more than happy to make the arrangements for you. However, you are free to choose your own Hair and Make-Up person, if you prefer. AFTER THE SHOOT:
If you are not familiar with dropbox, I am happy to introduce you to it. It is a free service that enables you to transfer large files over the internet. After cropping each photograph, I will send you all your pictures via dropbox for you to review. I sort your pictures according to three folders:
A Favorite Images (my personal favorites)
B All Images
C Retouched Images
You will then be able to go through all your pictures and send me the file number of the images you would like to have retouched. Those will be in the C Retouched Images Folder. RETOUCHING:
I have years of experience in/with retouching techniques. I will make sure your headshot captures your unique personality and the final product will represent the best possible you! Unlike most retouchers, I spend a minimum of one full hour, often two, on each retouching session. To me, retouching is an art form. I have a background in fine art oil painting and in working with photographs, this has helped me to take my work to an unusual high level of subtlety and power. With each Headshot session, I offer two completely retouched pictures. Each additional retouched photo is only $25 ($40 without a headshot photography session). Furthermore, I am happy to work on an existing image of you that you would just like to see optimized with a retouching session.
