My last two posts were a love letter to Olympus Stylus Epic, but I would be remiss to not mention the Mamiya RB67. I bought my first one in 2005 not knowing much about medium format cameras, except for my Rollieflex (which I immediately broke because I am not very good with anything delicate). I now have a second body, and they’re still so inexpensive on eBay that I don’t see myself not having one. Even when there’s fof on the glass or something, it really gives a dreamy quality to the images that I don’t consider a flaw. I know some people say gear isn’t important or whatever, but some of these cameras change the way that pictures are made—literally and figuratively—and I think that that’s worth acknowledging. It would also be extremely sick to do a commercial job on film in our year of 2026 so if anyone’s thinking of it, hit me up. All of these pictures were from 2006-2021 💋

My Olympus Stylus Epic was by my side for several years until it broke (and then I’d get another, which would then break; repeat this ad infinitum). Something about the shots from this littlecamera encapsulate a particular vibe I can’t get from any other point and shoot. These are all taken from 2008-2010 in my 20s 👶🏻 in none other than BK NYC (except 16, I think in LA) 🍻
