In France, where I grew up, school starts in early September — so this month has always meant the end of summer and the start of something new.

We had school picture day too. But looking back, I wish I had more photos that captured not just what I looked like, but who I was becoming. The shy kid I was. The teenager I was turning into. All those versions of ourselves that quietly disappear.

That's what these Fall Pop-Ups are really about.

This year I have a high schooler and a 5th grader. Four years to college. One last year of elementary. I'm not sure I'm ready for either.
