Jay accidentally discovered a passion for concert photography, which is now an obsession. Jay says “I am pleased my photos allow people to ‘see’ the music”. “I have always made

it my intention to make my photos personal, showing my audience the human side as well as the performance side of the musicians I photograph. Drummers receive a great deal of my attention during a concert photo shoot, they are always heard but not always seen.”

Jays talent for capturing the artist performing their art has not gone unnoticed by those he has photographed. His musician friends are proud to repost his work on their own social media and fan pages. Jay says “I want my photos to convey what I saw - to want my audience to hear the music in my images”. “I strive to capture the emotion of each performing artist to allow my audience to see the micro/expressions that are imperceptible when viewing from their seat at the venue“. Besides my camera gear, my earplugs are my best friends. Yes I’m that close to those powerful venue speakers.
