Cassandra began this journey by starting to develop some drawing and painting skills around the age of eleven. Years later in high school, Cassandra became fascinated with painting and drawing until one day in her senior year, her class schedule allowed an optional class elective and decided to enroll in digital photography. After that semester, she graduated high school and enrolled at Riverside
City College and majored in Fine and Applied Art. After four years of attending community college, Cassandra had the honor of showcasing her paintings and photographs in the 2016 and 2017 art department student exhibitions, being awarded student of distinction in 2017 by the photography department faculty, and representing the college at a regional, state, and national level post-secondary photography competition and bringing home the highest honor of being 1st place as a national champion. Cassandra’s earliest photographs depicted landscapes and still life, but when she met her now best friend, Kokoro Ito, who she met at Riverside City College and has become her muse, Cassandra dedicated her craft to photographing portraits. This began a lifelong collaboration between model and photographer and Cassandra’s work transitioned to more intimate and contemplative. When photographing together, they combine their influences of music, movies, fashion, and video games in the final stylish and conceptualized images. After graduating from Riverside City College, she was awarded two associates degrees with a concentration in photography and fine and applied arts. Cassandra is currently attending California State University Fullerton and is working towards her bachelors with a major in Creative Photography and Experimental Media. Simultaneously, she is working full-time for Canon Inc. as a product educator, she travels across southern California and Hawaii where she trains specialty dealers and educates customers on an entire range of products including but not limited to cameras, optical lenses, printers, and computer software. Cassandras current responsibilities involve creating online training content for camera specialty dealers in various photography subjects and techniques. Cassandra believes that by sharing her knowledge and photographic work with others, she is building important personal interconnections that she has worked towards since the beginning.
