After a weekend dominated by heavy cloud cover, nature decided to save the best for last on Sunday evening!

Just when it seemed the sky would stay gray, the sun peeked through at the very end of the day for a brief but spectacular display of vibrant color reflecting over Letitia Lake. 🥰

The partial lunar eclipse was beautiful last night but tucked away into the clouds a little early.

Snowy egret hunting for crayfish at sunset.

There were close to 30 Snowy Egrets this past weekend at Pelican Point area at Cherry Creek State Park.
They will be migrating south sometime in September, so it was a special treat to see so many.

This furry neighbor stopped by to inspect the deck railing, but found nothing up there except flowering plants.

Before moseying away, this visitor was kind enough to press right up against the camera lens and leave a detailed extreme close-up of belly fur! 😅
