Day 5 is not a success story.

I’ve checked a lot of boxes lately (website, social media, Google profile, ads) …. and my calendar is still painfully quiet.

I’m sharing this because I don’t want to pretend building a business is a cute montage where every effort immediately turns into a booking.

Sometimes you do the work, hear nothing back, and have to decide whether you’re willing to keep going anyway. Today I’m discouraged. Tomorrow I’ll try again. 🤍

A side of grandparents with grandkids, a dash of grandparents just chillin' together, a sprinkle of adult siblings who still kinda like each other, each household getting their own moment, couples who are still cute, parents with kids who are still young enough to be forced into a photo... and any other special sauce relationships you've got cookin'!

DAY FOUR!
$125 photoshoot does not equal $125 for 60 minutes of work 😅

Once I counted the planning, travel, shooting, culling, editing and gallery delivery and marketing….. my actual hourly rate was a lot more humbling.

Day 4 of building Puffin Portraits into my full time job (and slowly learning to price like a business instead of apologizing for charging money).

An extended family session should give you more than 5 nearly identical versions of everybody standing in one row. Family sessions should tell the story of your family and how magical you are!
