Often unseen, rarely heard, and almost never caught on camera.
• Known as the “Ghost of the Mountains” because of its perfect camouflage
• Can survive temperatures as low as –40°C (–40°F)
• Its long, thick tail helps with balance and keeps it warm in freezing winds
• Capable of leaping 30–50 feet in a single jump
• Cannot roar — it communicates through soft sounds instead
• Found in the Himalayas and Central Asian high mountains
• Only 4,000–6,500 remain in the wild
