I couldn’t wait to share at least one photo from this fall mini session over the weekend!

This was my first time taking photos a little deeper into the woods, and I’m officially all about it. The mix of the greens with the changing fall leaves felt so magical, and I’m already wanting to do more sessions like this.

Michigan’s fall colors are at their peak right now, and my availability over the next few weeks is limited! If you’ve been thinking about fall family photos, now is the time to book before the leaves start dropping.

A few favorites from my very first wedding!

This one was extra special because it was for a dear friend. Although she and her husband have been married for years, they recently chose to recommit themselves to one another in front of their closest family and friends at their church, and it was such a beautiful thing to witness.

I learned a lot shooting my first wedding. For example, I may finally need to buy a flash 😂 And I spent half the day apologizing in my head for standing in front of people while trying to get the shot.

All jokes aside, I walked away with a greater appreciation for wedding photographers because you truly have one chance to capture moments that can never be recreated.

Photographer friends: What’s the one thing you wish someone had told you before shooting your first wedding?

Today was just really special!

My friend and her husband have been together for many years and have already shared so much life together, but today they got to marry again, this time in the church. And I genuinely couldn’t be happier for them!

I’m so thankful they let me be there to capture a few photos from such an intimate day. It felt really special to be able to document this for two people I love.

Fall session dates are officially open!

If you’ve been waiting for family photos, updated photos with your significant other, maternity photos, or just an excuse to document this season of life, these are for you.

This year I’ll be at Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve during golden hour on a handful of October evenings.

Sessions are 20 minutes, $200, and include all of the good photos from your gallery.

One of my favorite things about in-home newborn sessions is that they tell the story of this season exactly as it is. The nursery you’ve spent months preparing, the couch you’ve been trapped on during countless feedings, and all the tiny details that will someday feel like a blur.

A quick note: moving forward, I’ll be blurring or hiding children’s faces in most of the photos I share online. I made this choice for my own boys a few years ago, and it feels right to offer the same level of privacy to the families I photograph as well.

As always, each family can decide what they’re comfortable with, but you’ll likely notice this shift in my posts going forward. 💛
