My neighbors 🤍 a couple years ago I asked my neighbor if she would like me to take some photos of her and her daughter. She loved the idea but was concerned on where to go. We are in Colorado so the assumption is always to go outdoors with trails and mountains. But with her daughter’s limited mobility, she didn’t want to do that.

I asked her where is a place that they do love to go together - she answered, Church ⛪️

And that’s where we went. They place they go every week for years. The place my neighbor would volunteer at for years in the kid zone. The place they felt the most safe.

There’s something truly special about being invited into these quiet, gentle moments 🕊️ Capturing the way she looks at her newborn — that soft, sleepy snuggle, the gentle hand resting on mamas chest — feels like stepping into a mother’s storybook.

This specific morning I was just going to go over to my friends house to visit and spend quality time together. It wasn’t until 9pm the night before when I texted Britt and offered to get some quick mommy and me photos the next morning.

Nothing big and elaborate, no lengthy discussions on what to wear or figuring out extra props include. It was just a mama and her baby in their home together - a few shots to freeze this time in their lives.

Simple & beautiful.
