Sweet sunlight ~

Impromptu mini photoshoot with because the sunset was too pretty not to capture (also Molly was too pretty)

My sweet and incredible friend is getting married next week, and I am honored to have been a part of her bridal journey—from being her bridal consultant and helping her find her dress (hello .bridal.cottage ) to completing alterations on her dress to helping nail down a hairstyle, and I cannot wait to be her day-of coordinator!!!!

I will definitely be sharing the gorgeous dress as soon as we move celebrated the big day 🤍🤍🤍

This was one of my favorite photoshoots.

It was fall of 2022, and Jamie was moving into an apartment in upper Manhattan, and, right there in the empty room, we took a few minutes to take some photos. The lighting was perfect, the trees were gorgeous and vibrant, and Jamie looked spectacular.

I remember editing these on the flight back to Arkansas, and feeling like something had finally clicked with my aesthetic, knowing I would miss my friend but being so proud of them.

I learned a new skill 🤍 knotless braiding 🤍

Seriously, thank you Jada for trusting me to braid your hair!! I had so much fun, and have gotten so much joy seeing how much you love your hair 🥰

I've wanted to learn the art of braiding and protective styling for a few years now, and was finally convinced to go for it (Thank you, Jada & ) and I could not be more thrilled!!!

Remember this?? Here's how it turned out! (Plus how it started)

I am actually obsessed with how this dress turned out. It took a lot of time, patience, and mental geometry to make this happen, but seeing the joy and confidence on Dylan's face when she tried it on after the alterations is why I do this!!!

What an absolute joy it was to take photos of with !!!

Karen is doing some amazing work with her business, supporting breast cancer survivors and women in general! An absolute light to all who interact with her, it was an honor to take these photos.

Current work in progress ~

One of my favorite kinds of projects is the kind when a dress/garment has to be deconstructed, adjusted, and then reconstructed. ✨

Client wanted the dress skirt shortened, but keep the beautiful scalloped lace hem. Simply taking off the hem, shortening the skirt, and reattaching it would have affected the pattern and/or added bulk that the client didn't want—so we're hemming it through the waistline! Which means detaching the skirt completely, removing the excess length from the top, then putting it back together. (If you look closely, you can see the guidelines I've marked for darts to shape the new top of the skirt)

While I'm here, I'm also going to take it in a couple inches in the bodice to achieve a better fit for the client!

If you need me, I'll be here, elbows deep in fabric, listening to Jazz and keeping my cat off of the dress 😂💛💛💛
