Kentucky Darkroom closed, but the mission lives on.
I'm finishing the first book in the Kentucky Darkroom Film Photography Guides series, Film Photography for Beginners -- out early September on Amazon (Kindle edition following October).
Here's where you come in. Each chapter opens with a photograph, and I'd love for some of those to come from people who were actually part of Kentucky Darkroom and the Darkroom groups. Black and white or color, doesn't matter -- if you shot film with us and have an image you're proud of, I want to see it.
Selected photos get a real spot in a real, printed book -- credited with your name, photo title, and camera if you remember, right on the page. No payment, just credit, and it's genuinely being published, not a contest with a "winner." If your photo is selected, I'll also ship you a free copy of the finished book. This is also just the first volume; more are already in the works, so anything I don't use here stays in consideration for what's next.
Feel free to post one here if you want to share it, but to actually be considered I need an email submission at your best resolution -- the original file, not something already shrunk for posting. Send it to [email protected] along with the title you'd give it, the camera used for the image, and how you'd like to be credited.
I need your image by Sunday, August 23rd, at noon to make it into proof printing -- so if you've got one, don't sit on it.
Thanks for being part of what Kentucky Darkroom was. This next chapter's for you too.
