You know that slightly unhinged idea about having a *real* couple be our models for a styled shoot?

Well, we did it.

Styled shoots are typically put on by a photographer or venue, and vendors provide their services in exchange for photos. The host of the shoot essentially plans an entire wedding and then has models come in, and all of the materials and time spent planning everything essentially goes to waste.

My brand and personal values are all about authenticity, and I've been wanting to find a REAL couple to model in a styled shoot, but I also needed a venue to be on board with my idea. Enter Julia at 1860 Schulhaus--a micro-wedding & elopement venue in New Melle.

With the help of the best vendor team, Sam + Brian were married this past Sunday at 1860 Schulhaus. A big shoutout to this couple for being up for a totally unconventional way to get married. 🙌🏻

I usually think of winter as the quiet season. The reset. The deep breath after a full year.

Not this time. 😅

Sara & Tyler rang in the new year with a wedding that refused to be sleepy--complete with confetti at midnight, a dance floor that would NOT quit, and guests of all ages holding strong for the countdown like absolute legends.

It was bigger than the weddings I typically take on these days, and it was a blast. Sometimes stepping outside your usual rhythm reminds you why you love this work in the first place.

Winter might’ve been loud this year. No complaints here.

On April 26, 2026, we’re hosting an intimate, intentionally designed elopement at 1860 Schulhaus — and we’re looking for a real couple to step into it.

This isn’t a styled shoot pretending to be a wedding. It’s a real, legal marriage, thoughtfully crafted from start to finish so you don’t have to carry the planning on your shoulders.

The atmosphere will be moody, romantic, and deeply personal inside of a beautiful piece of Missouri history. Every detail is being handled by a small, handpicked team of vendors so the experience feels seamless and grounded — not chaotic.

This is for a couple who:
• cares more about intimacy than spectacle
• is open to creative direction
• feels comfortable with their images being shared
• would secretly love for someone else to handle the logistics

What you’ll receive:
• 3 hours at 1860 Schulhaus
• Officiant
• Bouquet + curated design details
• 15 printed invitations
• Light refreshments
• A full elopement gallery (high-res + web size)
• Hair & makeup (pending final confirmation)

What you’ll bring:
• Your marriage license

If you’re going to Off White on March 1st, here’s what I hope you don’t do:

❌ Don’t collect 40 brochures.
❌ Don’t book someone because they’re loud, or pressuring you to book them TODAY.
❌ Don’t assume bigger is better.

Instead, I hope you find vendors who:
✅ Ask you more questions than you ask them.
✅ Care about how your day feels.
✅ Aren’t trying to upsell you into exhaustion.

I’ll be there — and even if you don’t book me, I hope you leave feeling clearer about what you want, not exhausted from information overload.
