Activism doesn’t have age restrictions.
Throughout my night capturing the #TV84 Gala, I realized so many individuals have contributed to the growth of the kaum from various platforms, little or big. Whether it’s humanitarian aid, traveling to hear the cries of the widows from 1984, helping mark Sikh History Month in the states or simply sharing your identity with a stranger. When I’m at events like this, the spirit of the Khalsa panth resonates throughout. The amount of chardikala in this very hall took me back to the sakhis of our Gurus and Leaders. We can’t change where we are today but we CAN alter tomorrow by standing up for the same exact values the Chotte Sahibjaade stood for in front of face of oppression. In the words of Dr. Iqtidar Cheema, “Every kaum has its issues, but a successful kaum is one that is able to prioritize what their issues are”.
Lastly, as a humble request please take a moment to donate whatever you can to TV84. Without your help and support, it’s nearly impossible to progress. Visit www.tv84.tv/donate for details!
