Tim Dunnahoo Photography Sports Photography is my specialty. Other interests include portraiture and travel. I continue to practice yoga ride a mountain bike.

As a yogi, mountain biker and former Ironman triathlete, I gravitate toward photographing athletes - capturing them in action, posed, and lifestyle. I am a 5th generation Texan with a relative that fought and died alongside James Fannin at the 1836 Goliad Massacre. As a high school freshman I ran a sub-5 minute mile and completed my first of 15 marathons as a high school senior. After graduating f

rom Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Environmental Design I became a licensed architect and worked as a health systems strategic and facilities master planner while also training and racing triathlons, completing five Ironman races during my 50's. After retiring from my salaried career and triathlon racing, I turned my lifelong photography hobby into my post-retirement career as a professional photographer and I now specialize in sports photography. As a member of the MaxPreps Photographers Network I have photographed Texas UIL State Championships in baseball, swimming & diving, track & field, cross country and golf. I also enjoy traveling off-grid in my 4x4 campervan photographing landscapes, wildlife, nature and astrophotography.

I photographed the San Antonio Marathon and Half Marathon as my first assignment with FinisherPix on December 07, 2025. Using both of my Nikon Z8 bodies and 6 batteries I filled all provided memory cards plus a few others on my own cards (including these examples).

Not complaining, but marathoning has changed a bit since I completed my 15 races, ranging from ages 17-35 (excluding the 5 Ironman finishes in my 50’s). The field of participants is much larger, and cell phones are everywhere! It’s really cool shooting the finish where emotions range from glee to tears, multiple couples clapse hands in celebration, some sprint while others soak it in while walking. All ages, shapes and sizes, nationalities, and attire are on display. It’s truly my privilege to document their hard-earned accomplishment!
