I've been quiet for a while, contemplating the meaning of life, hanging with psychedelic blue chickens that lay green eggs. Green egg omelettes!

I've been absent, traveling, riding mountain bikes and just staring at crystal clear rivers and hanging with blue chicken pals in California and Oregon. Ironically, this blue chicken - Todd - in Penn Valley, CA lays green eggs.

John Thompson, Microsoft chairman of the board, at home with his spaniels then in his wine cellar for a magazine cover. I became a pet photographer only because when I photographed people who had pets, I was for some reason compelled to make pictures of the pets + they were a natural and appealing prop!

Overkill??? This is a rather gigantic photo studio we rented for a shoot for Avoderm, premium pet food for cats & dogs. When doing major cat and dog shoot in-studio, trainers tend to prefer driving their van full of animals inside a studio hence the mega-studio. Our set for this large national ad and packaging campaign seems tiny in this studio big enough to photograph a tractor trailer rig.

While setting up for a shoot of people in my backyard landscaped for occasional use as an outdoor studio, this frame was made as a test to insure the foreground bamboo was more a blurry green visual element than distinct as bamboo.

Excellent illustration showing the relationship been aperture (fstops), shutter speed and ISO in basic photographic physics.

If you’re a beginner photographer, this little infographic can be very helpful to understand the different “exposure triangle” — aperture, shutter speed, and ISO — settings on your camera. The image was made by Daniel Peters..

This new FREE portfolio sharing website - Ufolios.com - looks like a great place to post entire sets of photos when there are multiple interesting photographs from a shoot(s). It's almost a rule you do not post entire series of photos on a normal photography website so Ufolios.com resolves that issue by enabling posting up to 30 photos. Check out my Direwolf!!!

As if through the myst of time the extinct Direwolf reemerges as the American Alsatian, a large companion dog ranging from 75 to 130 pounds. The ancient DNA within the American Alsatian is evident any time these strong, capable dogs are let loose in the wilderness or anywhere in nature.
