Wounds from the playground or the workspace can be healed in the loving arms of family. But only if we treat those who are closest to us like they are indeed close to us. Families are meant for closeness.. not a housing place for TV’s, game consoles and phones.

Last photo in the series. If you have wondered where this photoshoot was taken it was at a really cool place to spend the day. Not only is there a beautiful field for picnics and a rock wall for the kiddos to climb, but there is a really cool river (the Las Vegas wash) with a bridge that separates the wetlands area with small ponds, tall wetland bushes and plenty of local, from the 20 miles of trails to bike on the north loop east of the river. If tomorrow is your fun day, think about heading to Wetland’s Park!

Knowing when to help our children, when to let them climb to a higher place and when to be behind them supporting them is a task that requires delicate balance.

We want to give them strength, we want them to grow strength within themselves, we don’t want them to get hurt.

As a parent we have to always be there but waiting to see how our children will rise to the occasion. They are so powerful, so resilient, so able to become all they can be when we are near but only to watch them make that climb to the next level.

I hope you all had a very happy Mother’s Day and if you are a dad, I hope you have a great upcoming Father’s Day!
