My Friends at Sigma were kind enough to let me borrow and test/evaluate their 150-600mm f5-6.3 contemporary lens.

First test: I've had it a week but haven't had a moment to put it on a camera until just now. I have a little time today and I shot these photos on a Nikon Z6II and FTZ adaptor. These were handheld (not recommended) because I was too lazy to get my monopod from my truck.

I shot objects/Nuk from various distances to illustrate what 150 vs. 600 will give you. Plus to see how sharp the images will be. First test in back yard and family room, I'm very pleased with the results.

Much like the 100-400 which I tested and subsequantly purchased, all camera functions seem to work seamlessly with the FTZ adaptor. Speed of focus seems very responsive and extremely accurate.

My first "real world" trial will be at another soccer tournament in a couple of weekends. But here are my first test results.

This house is less than 1 mile NE of the Harry Reid International Airport (formally McCarran). For those in the Drone know, you have to get approval(s) to fly this close to the airport, and this close to a major landing path.

First attempt, I had received a manual approval through a popular drone app for up to 150ft. On the day of while on site, I realized I did not have personal hotspot available on my cell phone. When this close to airports you have to get an authorization code to unlock your drone with the DJI fly app. Without network service I was SOL.

I attempted to get approvals for the next couple of days, keeping in mind that it is a manual approval and someone has to put eyes on it and approve 24+ hours in advance. Otherwise it will automatically cancel. I kept getting declined until I submitted with different APP at 125ft. Finally approved.

All this for 15 minutes of flight, but it shows the house in proximity to the strip. Mission accomplished.
