Sunset over the Las Vegas Strip, New Year’s Eve 2020/2021.

It’s hard to see on a cell phone, but the full image is really clear and can be zoomed in to read the writing on the casinos (see cropped images).

There were no fireworks this year, so nature gave us a fiery show in the sky instead.

The longer you look at it, the more you begin to imagine what the landscape might have looked like, filling in the black space with a scene of your own creation.

Social Isolation under the desert sky.

The circular patterns above the ram skull are the stars in their rotation throughout the night. Their movement is captured by leaving the shutter open for a long time. One of these pictures took an hour to record and another took 2 1/2 hours. The Big Horn Sheep, whose skull is found on the desert floor, is a symbol of Nevada, where these photos were taken.
