Comet Overload, but WOW it's looking gorgeous. The tail was so so long tonight away from city light. Easily seen without aid from about 7:15 to 8:00 pm when it set. Might be worth it to get out and see for yourself over the next week or so. Ran out early this am to try and grab a few shots of the first meteor shower of the year. Of course the clouds played havoc. Sat in my truck until almost 4am before getting a clear patch of sky, and only caught one single bright meteor (far right) shooting next to the rising planet Venus. Stayed for the sunrise at Lake Mead. Not worth it, so tired.

Saw hundreds of meteors, but not very many bright ones. Here's a few of my fav shots. Had 3 cameras going for 7 hours, went through 7 batteries too. And my car said it was 28 degrees when I got in to drive home around 5am. All taken near Nipton (Joshua tree forest area)
