A little reminder for anyone planning an elopement 🤍

The things you’re stressing about right now probably won’t matter nearly as much as you think. Some of the best moments happen when things don’t go exactly according to plan. They’re the moments in between. The laughter, the surprises, the things you don’t realize are becoming memories while they’re happening.

Years from now, those are often the images that bring you right back to how it felt.

Sometimes sessions end up being way more than just about the photos.

Trang + Travis talked about this feeling like the best date ever, and honestly that’s exactly what I hope these experiences become.

Not overly posed or stressful. Just slowing down for a second, spending time together, laughing, exploring somewhere beautiful, and getting to reconnect without thinking too hard about anything else.

I also love the idea that sessions like this don’t only have to be for people getting married. There’s something really special about documenting couples exactly as they are in whatever season of life they’re in together.

These two go to Yosemite every year. So what better place to have their photos taken than Yosemite! Loved capturing their love in one of their special places.

Less pressure, more presence 🤍

There’s something really special about working with couples who have a clear vision for how they want their day to feel.

Julia + Michael planned an intimate Yosemite wedding and wanted the whole experience to feel adventurous, intentional, and true to them from the very beginning.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to step into someone else’s vision and help bring it to life in a way that still feels natural and real while you’re actually living it.

By the end of the day, everything just felt easy. Like they could fully be in the moment together and trust that the story was unfolding exactly the way it was supposed to.

Being in front of a camera can feel really awkward for a lot of people. Honestly, almost everyone tells me that at some point 😅

Allison + Andrew talked about feeling nervous at first, but by the end of everything it just felt natural. That’s always my goal.

I never want people to feel overly posed or like they have to “perform” for photos. I want the day to actually feel like yours and for you to be able to relax into it, be yourselves, and enjoy what’s happening around you.

Those are always the moments that end up meaning the most later 💕

No ballroom. No guest list.

Just a quiet decision to get married in a way that actually felt like you without the pressure of it being “perfect”.
