These photos may just look like flowers, but to me, they hold the kind of memories that shaped who I am. My dad took me to the Franklin County Conservatory years ago and let me borrow his camera. I remember spotting the pink flower that looked like a fierce little face — he laughed, then later in the conservatory he pointed out the red one and showed me how to frame it just right.
The result of the red flower was the moment I knew I loved photography. Something sparked in me — and I never let it go. It wasn’t just a pretty composition; it was the moment that planted the seed. And in a way, he saw it too. He helped spark something that still lives on in every photo I capture.
I owe so many of my passions, quirks, interests, habits, and quiet strengths to him. Pieces of him still live on in the things I do every day.
The conservatory has always felt special to me — peaceful and full of life. I’ve returned on my own since, but I’ll always carry those first memories with him 🩵
Happy Father’s Day to the one who helped me see the world differently — and helped me find the lens I still look through today 🩵
