What a month August has been. 🥹📸

From engagements to first birthdays, senior sessions to weddings, this month somehow managed to bring me full circle. I got to photograph people stepping into something new, celebrating another year, marking milestones, making promises, and creating memories they will carry with them for years to come.

There is something pretty special about getting to be there for so many different chapters of life. One session might be a tiny human turning ONE, and the next is a couple saying, “We’re doing this forever.” Then comes a senior standing on the edge of their next chapter, followed by a wedding that brings an entire story together. 🥹

August has been busy, but it has also been a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do. Every session tells a different story, and somehow this month felt like the whole book came together.

Well, these two went and got themselves married. 🥹

There was laughter. There were happy tears. There was some very enthusiastic portrait direction. There may have even been a little yelling between photographers from opposite sides of the pond.

But mostly, there were two people surrounded by the people they love, celebrating the beginning of this next chapter together.

A little behind the scenes from this weekend…

Me, perched on the edge of the rock, directing the entire group...

While simultaneously yelling across the pond to my amazingly talented second shooter:

“DOES THE PLACEMENT LOOK OKAY?!”

Because apparently wedding photography is part posing, part choreography, part yelling across bodies of water, and part hoping everyone stays exactly where you put them for approximately 5 seconds.

And this is exactly why I love having a second shooter. One of us is directing the chaos, the other is across the pond making sure the chaos actually looks good. 😂

🎶 “You’ve got a friend in me.” 🤎

Because sometimes the best part of turning one isn't the cake, the cowboy boots, or the giant mess that follows. It's having a little friend right there beside you for the adventure. These two made this cake smash feel less like a photo session and more like a tiny birthday party that got slightly out of hand. 😂

When we first brought out the cake, she simply could not resist dipping a tiny little finger right into the icing. 😂 And honestly, this is the good stuff. The little moments they won't remember, but the ones their grown-ups will want to remember forever.
