👀 What you see vs. what the pilot sees 🚁
This isn't the drone's camera view, it's the whole cockpit. Everyone assumes flying a drone is just "look at the screen, point it somewhere cool." In reality this display is feeding me a dozen live readouts at once:
📡 Signal strength & RC link, how strong the connection is between controller and aircraft
🛰️ Satellite count (25 here), more satellites locked = tighter positioning and a safer hover
🔋 Battery %with a live flight-time countdown, so I always know when it's time to bring her home
📏 H / D, height above ground and horizontal distance from me, updated in real time
🧭 Mini radar map, shows exact orientation and heading relative to home point
🎥 Storage, resolution, frame rate, exposure, all dialed in before a single second of usable footage gets recorded
🛳️ Cruise control activated, helps with smooth shots and provides a constant variable when doing maneuvers
That crosshair grid overlay? Helps me keep shots level and compositions clean — especially useful for the straight lines you want in real estate and inspection work.
So next time you see a drone buzzing over the park (yes, that's downtown Lake Mills at a market day 👇), know that there's a lot more going on up in that cockpit than just "flying around with a camera." 😄
