By the looks of these photos, you’d never guess that Jamie and David spent most of their wedding day at Crooked Lake House watching the rain fall outside.

Instead, the day was filled with the exchanging of heartfelt handwritten letters, emotional first looks, signing the ketubah, family gathered beneath the chuppah, the breaking of the glass, being lifted high during the hora, and a dance floor that never slowed down!

And after trusting the process all day long, the newlyweds were rewarded with an epic sunset to close out the celebration.

Proof that great wedding days aren’t about weather. They’re about staying flexible, trusting the process, and making the most out of every opportunity the day gives you. 🤍

Take a deep breath, some of our favorite wedding photos ever happened in weather exactly like this!

A few things most couples don’t realize:
☔️ Overcast skies are actually AMAZING for photos
☔️ A solid backup plan with an open covered porch, patio, or overhang will allow for photos to continue in beautiful natural light while keeping everyone dry!
☔️ An experienced team knows how to keep things on track when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate and keep the vibes high!

Rain changes the plan sometimes, but it doesn’t have to change the energy of the day 🤍

WWG Vendor Spotlight:

On is one of the hardest working and most passionate people in this industry, and it shows in every wedding he’s a part of.

One of our favorite moments with him: we were looking for the perfect spot for a first look, and he volunteered to move all of the floral arrangements so the couple could be surrounded by color. True to the name, Surroundings Floral Studio at its best. It made for such a stunning, unforgettable moment for the couple!

On a busy wedding day, not many people would do the same. But this shows how much he cares about the client experience.

From clean, monochrome palettes to full-on color, he can do it all and somehow makes it look effortless every time.

WWG Venue Spotlight: Franklin Plaza | Troy, NY

Franklin Plaza is always a fun one for our team ❤️

Being right in downtown Troy gives the whole day a different kind of energy. The people of Troy love seeing a wedding come through, cheering, waving, hyping up the couple as they pass by. It sets the tone right away!

The historical building itself is beautiful, and the rooftop is one of our favorite spots, especially at golden hour when the light hits just right and you can see out over the whole city.

Having the Best Western Plus right across the street also makes things really easy. Everything stays close, which helps the day feel a lot more relaxed.

And once the reception gets going?! Fuhgettaboutit, our couples blow the roof off of the place every time!
