She strives to capture enticing images, with a natural and artistic approach. She received her BFA in Photography from the University of Minnesota and has also studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her background in art history, fine arts, and graphic design have nurtured her passion for photography, allowing her to create captivating images with special attention to detail, composition, color, and lighting.

Tonight I enjoyed a delicious pop-up dinner at Break of Dawn in Laguna Hills, CA. Sometimes it’s nice to put my DSLR camera down and simply enjoy the company and the food! All these pictures were snapped on my IPhone 8!

Working on a few freelance projects in New York this month! Excited to share some food photos with you soon. Here I am at Le Mistral in Brooklyn, New York. This cozy French bistro is perfect for a glass of wine and some creme brulee.

Hi, I’m Emily J. Davis. There are A LOT of Emily Davis photographers in the world, so I include the “J” to help identify myself. My Instagram handle is @EmilyJDavisPhoto. I am an editorial and freelance photographer currently living in Southern California. After 10 years employed as a senior staff photographer at Tiger Oak Media in Minneapolis, I took a job offer to be the primary photographer at Orange Coast Magazine in Irvine, California. I strive to capture enticing images with a natural, yet professional approach (I set up off-camera lighting for almost 90% of my photo shoots, which gives the photos an editorial “pop” of light and color that is impossible to achieve with only ambient lighting). I received my BFA in Photography from the University of Minnesota in 2006 and I’ve also studied design at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I specialize in food, restaurant, portrait and product photography.
