It's been a while but I'm making plans to jump back in to the portraiture world. I lost my drive for photography over the last few years but have been finding my self getting out more and more.

I still won't be doing photography as a full-time endeavor and will work towards doing paid portraits 3 days a week for 2 hours a day in the South East MN area. I'm currently looking into services that'll make it easier to book appointments, communicate with interested clients, and more.

I'm also going to be redoing my website, http://alex.takes.pics in shift away from a photography journal -- which hasn't been updated for years -- and more into a portfolio and services.

I'm looking forward to sharing my photos with you all again!

Red Shouldered Hawk
--
A friend spotted this Red Shouldered Hawk on our birding expedition. Sorry for the poor framing, he turned around and flew away faster than I could reframe the shot but I managed to stitch two photos into a collage slash pano, I just wish there was more background to the right of the image.

With 2018 nearing the end, I headed out to photograph the Milky Way one last time. It'll be back next May but I won't sleep; my Winter will be spent practicing with some new equipment.

I preordered Arsenal almost a year ago. The first commercially available artificial intelligence aide for photography. Delivery was suppose to be February 2018. In early August I got the tracking number. Arsenal was delivered today.

I don't know what it's going to bring to the table, I am excited to mix technology and photography together. I look forward to sharing my thoughts in the next few months.

With the Perseids peaking this weekend, I reflect back on how watching the Perseids six years ago sparked my deep interest in nightscape photography and the path I've taken on while taking this journey.
