Sunday Dawn: Perhaps I’m picking up a new early Sunday morning ritual. The past two Sundays (last week at home and this week in Missouri) I have awakened before first light and gone someplace to watch the sunrise. A little time in God’s creation does put me in a better frame of mind to assemble for worship. This is Lost Hill Park. The fog was still lying over the meadow and created a dreamy scene for a few moments before the sun crested hill. The Show Me state is one of my favorite places to see the first glimpses of fall.

Another simple scene; this one from this past Saturday evening in FDR State Park. It may not be Yosemite or Yellowstone, but the ridge gives some sweeping views of our part of Georgia and plenty of peaceful winding road canopied in trees. Sunrises and sunsets have been spectacular lately in all of the places I have been. This was over a week ago on the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in northern Oklahoma. There was not another person in sight and the only sounds were the gentle breeze and the birds and insects. It was a beautiful moment.

Sunday Sunrise! As the Harvest Moon was about to set in the west, the eastern sky was aflame with a sunrise about to burst forth. I snuck out early before church to capture this shot looking toward downtown LaGrange and the steeple of First Baptist. A flock of birds kindly cooperated with the composition 😊
