2025 was a rough year for us. So many pet medical emergencies and illnesses. Russell, our senior boy, was one of those. He was diagnosed with plasma cell tumor in his intestine. While plasma cell cancer is not necessarily uncommon, it is quite uncommon in the location of his. Usually it’s spread all over. But his was just a big ole plasma cell bump.
Thanks to the wonderful people at AVCC in Fishers, we quickly got surgery done to have it removed. Russell’s been on chemo since. Today was our 5 month recheck. No regrowth. All his labs are in normal range. And he continues to gain weight. Two more months of chemo and we will restage and hopefully be able to stop chemo at that point, moving into maintenance mode.
I’m so grateful for the care he’s gotten. He’s the most orangest of all orange cats. We love him so much and are doing happy dances he’s thriving 🎉
