A year ago vs. now. 🌱
Throwback to a year ago when I shot a last minute wedding. I still had maybe a year of experience under my belt, a different editing software, not the best understanding of composition and lighting right off hand, but a heart and soul full of desire.
This year, I started working at a local photography company that takes portraits for schools. While the same setup is used pretty much every time, I learned a better understanding of how to use a camera and how to position a client (or student). Because of my time with this company that I love dearly, I have grown exponentially and found a passion to capture the perfect moment(s). Sometimes, those moments are in-between the directed poses. Sometimes, they are in the laughter we share, or the glances to our partner. Wherever it may be, just know I always aim to achieve the best possible results. I didn’t make my mission “capturing moments you care about” for nothing.
I have grown after every session I have. I learn new angles, new prompts, new skills, new editing techniques; you name it, I’ve learned it or I’m working on learning it. The clients that went out of their way to trust a baby photographer like me are truly engrained into my soul as the most honorable. You trusted me when I was scared, nervous, uncertain… and you still loved the outcome. In no way am I shaming myself in how I was just a year ago, but the difference is inspiring. To the clients who stayed all this time, and to those who have insisted on booking me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This dream is more than I could have ever imagined, and I’m just getting started. 🥰
