Comet Atlas and the Milky Way.

I've never photographed a comet, nor our galaxy, not intentionally, anyway. I intended on getting the comet that night, and I thought maybe I'd get lucky on the Milky Way... but I did not think I'd get them both in the same shot. This was phenomenal to me, even moreso while editing.

Today I tried something new. On lunch I visited my local waterway near Kokomo Municipal Stadium with the intention of making the water look a little “milky.”

That part was a success.

The part that wasn’t?

It was windy enough that the leaves were moving during the long exposure. So the picture is not perfect. But this also makes me wonder exactly how photographers do this…double exposure? Anyway, here’s the record of my starting point .

I think I did better editing on this photo in . Turn your screen brightness up and look from the lower left to upper right. The Milky Way is so beautiful.
