When reached out, I knew I wanted this session to feel less like chapter photos and more like a fully built atmosphere. Ayres Hall gave us everything we needed: rigid stair lines, worn classrooms, chalkboards that still felt active even when empty. I used hard directional flash and wider framing to make the images feel sharper, more controlled, and a little tense in a way that matched their concept perfectly.

Sigma Sigma Rho understood the vision immediately. They moved as a unit instead of as individuals, which completely shifted the energy of the shoot and turned it into something far more intentional than a typical group session.

The Vol Portrait Project has always been at its best when people come in with ideas they actually care about, and this was one of those shoots from start to finish. If your organization, team, or group has a concept you’ve been wanting to bring to life… reach out. 🍊 Let’s keep pushing this project into places that feel unexpected. 🤌🏻

As graduation season comes to a close, I wanted to make a post for a group that doesn’t always get forever recognized. The photographers.

To the newest UTK alums… congratulations! 🎓🤍 You had an entire support system behind you getting to this moment. Family, friends, mentors… and for many of you, someone behind a camera making sure this chapter had something tangible to hold onto.

This carousel is a little different.

While photographing my own grads this season, I started taking portraits of the photographers I’d pass while trekking across campus—the familiar faces who have become part of graduation season and some of the newer student photographers who just opened their books and decided to go for it.

Some of these people have documented hundreds of milestones. Some are just getting started. All of them are helping shape how this season is remembered.

Photography can feel competitive sometimes, but this season reminded me how many talented, kind, hardworking people exist in this space—and how cool it is that we all get to preserve the same milestone through different eyes.

I tagged or mentioned each photographer on their photo—take a minute to check out their work. Show them some love, follow along, recommend them to your friends, book with them next season. And hey… if you’ve loved seeing my work too, recommend me while you’re at it 🤍

Your memories live in their galleries.
Here’s to the people behind the lens 🍊👏🏻🧡

Special recognition to whom is not photographed. She was in fact too booked and busy with her clients for me to catch her on campus. I highly respect her work and think you would too. Go check her out!

Thank you .photography (SLIDE 1) for showing me what true dedication looks like as a photographer. You booked every day in the calendar since March. Not only extremely talented and sought after, but dedicated to your craft and that’s a special thing to witness.

Dear ,
happy graduation… I heard it’s been real.
Until your next chapter, Hannah. 😏 🤝🍊🥂

What a great moment to share with another legend exiting Cumberland Ave, one last time. 👨‍🎓It was hard to choose the carousel VIPS on this session. Lots of great unseen images left in the gallery. Thanks for letting me be your photographer, Magus!

If anyone knows where it went, or found one at the torchbearer Sunday night/Monday morning, I would looooovveeee it back. I was across the street. It was a gift from someone passed and I use it practically every day. .us is the brand. I can identify it with key personal factors. Joke of a meme, but serious about its loss.

Who said graduation was the end? Also, who said your senior session is only allowed one vibe? I say, bring all the vibes 😎

During time at the University of Tennessee, she built a strong foundation in broadcast journalism, serving as a senior reporter and anchor for TVC News while also producing Daily Dose. Alongside her work in the newsroom, she was actively involved on campus as a member of Delta Gamma, balancing both her professional growth and campus community.

After graduation, she’s taking the next step in her career as a Weekend Anchor and MMJ at WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia to continue doing what she loves and bringing stories to life! 🎥

If anyone knows me personally, they know I’ll kindly interrupt a moment in order to capture it for someone to hold onto. I was walking back from a graduation session tonight, and saw these sweet ladies enjoying their selves on the circle park lawn. I walked up and asked what they were celebrating and it was the for a birthday. so this is my birthday gift! Making sure no one has to step out a frame for a cell phone portrait. Everyone’s included when it comes to my lens. ☺️🍊🤌🏻

and there she went. On her merry way. Congrats Kate 🍊👏🏻

A lot of controversy about the gear versus the photographer out there. So today, with stadium rules in place, how’d my iPhone do?—in lieu of my A7RV.
