The Journey from Start to Present: Photography is more than just an art form; to me it truly is a passion. I've been taking pictures as long as I can remember. From the time I was a small child (back in the days of film) I always carried a camera with me wherever possible. I got my first digital camera as a graduation present from my grandparents in 2006. Through college I took pictures when time allowed. As soon as I graduated in 2010, I set out to really hone my skills and become an adept photographer in a variety of settings. Everyday from then forward I have been dedicated to my craft and have developed as a photographer through various classes, workshops, magazine articles, and through seeking the advice of professionals in the area. Perhaps most importantly I've committed to pushing my comfort zone in order to learn new skills and techniques. I have been extremely blessed to shoot pictures for "Basketball Time in Tennessee" the past three seasons. This taught me how to get consistently sharp images in difficult lighting. You can see a few of my shots from these seasons in the "Sports" gallery. From there I've applied these same principles to portraits, commercial work and landscapes. After several years of working multiple jobs, I decided in February to take the plunge into business and make RC Photography my full-time job. A special "thanks" goes out to Rosemary Williams, who took the silhouette picture of me posted above during a workshop last year. Furthermore, many thanks to everyone who has supported me in this endeavor, and to everyone who has hired me. You are helping me pursue one of my passions in ways I never imaged. Thank you! -Reed Carringer
